| Here is Elsdon, the church is on the left. The father of one of our pupils at Newcastle was Vicar of Elsdon, a small village in Northumberland. Often at weekends I went to play the church organ.
During the war it was very isolated and quiet, I wonder what the traffic is like nowadays and whether it is a holiday centre for walkers. It is in lovely open country. The pylons on the horizon were a bit of a mystery. We believed that they were something to do with spotting German planes. |
