We are viewing from the north side of the Water of Leith. A bus just visible on the left has crossed the Dean Bridge. The dome belongs to what was formerly St George's Church in Charlotte Square. The beautiful square itself was designed by Robert Adam and looks along George Street to St Andrew's Square in the East. The Castle and Arthur's seat can both be seen. The sketch was made from a nursing home where Sidney, between returning from a morning orchestral rehearsal and tea time, unexpectedly had his appendix removed! |
