		This sketch shows the quiet country views we experienced. I think it is near Grasmere which was our closest neighbour. One rarely met people. A bit of a change from today when even footpaths on the hills have to be kept in order, because of the huge numbers of walkers. A problem during the recent "foot and mouth" epidemic was that one of the jobs created by tourism, which was affected, was that of footpath maintainers.
