Bath Road Backs Back to Nailsworth Index
At one time much of the area was wooded. Then in the 1830s a great deal of wood was felled and the land became open and was grazed. Wood was valuable and perhaps this all helped to make up for the failing wool industry. This light sketch remembers the view from Worley in the 1970s and shows the backs of houses on the Bath Road, which now only 35 years later, are totally invisible.
